Therapeutic Wellness Coaching helps identify patterns of tension, stress, or emotional blockages in the body, so we can release them, to integrate healing on all levels. When the body is stuck in the fight, flight or freeze stress response, for whatever reason, symptoms occur – racing mind, muscle tension, pain, hypervigilance, plus an inability to sleep, digest food, feel calm, relax and think clearly.

My unique approach combines functional medicine, nutrition and naturopathic principles, with mind-body therapies, emotional regulation and healing techniques, and cutting-edge neuroscience, to bring the body out of the stressed state and back into balance for optimal, healthy functioning.

Psychoneuroimmunology studies show that unresolved negative emotions can lead to physical symptoms and illness. Also, how we perceive stress and respond to it is influenced by unresolved emotional issues which can increase the intensity of a stressful experience.

Repair your nervous system

Everything you’ve ever learnt, done, thought, felt, experienced is stored deep in the subconscious. Your subconscious mind isn’t time dependent, so, when a past memory or feeling is activated, it can feel like it’s happening right now. It’s called a trigger. This emotional response can affect our lives, health, and how we think, feel and behave. Our past can keep us stuck. Willpower alone isn’t enough. We need to unblock stored emotions or trauma in the body, building internal resources, to create sustained mental, emotional and behaviour changes for recovery, resilience, connection and a healthier, happier life.
Our beliefs are powerful filters which we view life through. They shape our thoughts, provide fuel for our emotional reactions and shape our reality. If we can change our beliefs, we can change our life.

Integrating therapies:

NeurOptimal® neurofeedback harnesses your brain’s natural ability to change, by retraining your brain to move away from unhealthy patterns of brainwave activity (like those associated with depression or anxiety) to a healthier, more functional state. This helps change how you feel, think, and behave and also how your brain functions on a biological level. I offer the following neurotherapy services:

Neurofeedback retrains brain’s electrical activity away from unhealthy patterns to optimal activity and healthier, balanced nervous system regulation.

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) stimulates your brain’s natural electrical wiring for healing at a cellular level using gentle, safe and FDA approved pulsed electronic magnetic therapy (low frequency for optimal health results). PEMF is effective for reducing inflammation (including brain inflammation), improving cellular health, detoxification and energy production and moving the body into the parasympathetic (calm, relaxed) nervous system.

Trauma, emotional issues and stress is stored in the body (somatic memory) which can change our biological stress response and result in unwanted, unpleasant physical and mental symptoms and health issues.

Somatic experiencing uses mindfulness to notice, identify and respond to body sensations and your autonomic nervous system to release trapped energy, self-regulate and restore balance and relaxation.

Psychosensory therapies such as havening, EFT, self-soothing resources, gentle movement and breath work may also be used.

I use a range of bilateral stimulation techniques for rapid emotional and stress release, processing and relief.
Simple eye movements such as those used in EFT and Integral Eye Movement Therapy help change problematic thought patterns. Moving your eyes in certain ways links to the part of the brain that stores our memories and emotions which can help process thoughts differently and help you let go of the issue. The process doesn’t require any talking about the problem.

Integrative coaching is an empowering tool to guide, inspire and support mindset, belief and behaviour change to reach your potential and life goals. The process provides a deep level of self-awareness and emotional healing therapies to support your journey. Covering health, life, addiction recovery to ADHD coaching, I use strategies specifically designed for you.

ADHD coaching is tailored to be age-appropriate and covers strategies to build self-esteem and confidence, emotional regulation techniques, and strategies for study, school, work, social skills, planning, time management, goal setting, organisation and problem solving.

ADHD coaching supports healthier self-esteem and relationships, clearer judgement, self-motivation, a greater sense of self-efficacy.

NLP is about observing, understanding and developing a deep awareness of your mind, beliefs, thoughts, behaviours and feelings you habitually run. It’s a powerful action orientated therapy, focusing on how instead of why. How can you react differently to your thoughts and emotions? How can you adapt your communication style to the situation? How can you change your mindset so life is happening for you, not to you? With this awareness, I employ specific NLP techniques, like time-line or parts integration work, to reframe, unblock and change these patterns, negative emotions, limiting beliefs that creates lasting positive change and enables you to achieve your goals.  

A gentle, yet powerful, evidence-based technique to bi-pass the critical, analytical thinking mind to work and communicate directly within your subconscious for new awareness and support your desired changes.

I use hypnotherapy for issues with gut, digestion, sleep, anxiety, worry and breaking unwanted habits like smoking, vaping, overeating. Hypnosis is simply entering into a light trance similar to a deep relaxation, daydreaming or meditation. Hypnosis helps guide the subconscious mind in new and positive directions.

Sessions are conducted while you’re in this light, relaxed subconscious state. Beneficial suggestions (agreed beforehand by you) are given directly to your subconscious mind. Metaphors for bringing about change are used. In gut-directed hypnotherapy specific suggestions for the control and normalisation of gut function are made. It’s a very effective, safe approach, where you are always in full control.

EFT is a clinically proven, somatic ‘tapping’ tool combining ancient Chinese acupressure meridians with modern western psychology. EFT is a self-soothing technique that takes the emotional intensity out of a past memory to reduce stress, anxiety and support emotional healing. You are taught how to stimulate energy meridian points by tapping on them, engaging words specific for your issue. EFT sends a direct signal to your brain to help calm, re-program and release emotional distress.

I skillfully use investigative tools to guide you to uncover and release unresolved negative emotions in a safe, supportive environment. I coach you to use EFT as an ongoing tool to help you deal with stress, anxiety and life’s challenges, whilst facilitating positive change.

TLT supports personal change by helping eliminate painful emotions attached to memories of past events (without the need to relive or discuss them). TLT only clears the negative emotions attached to the memories, not the memories themselves. TLT enables you to clear limiting beliefs that can leave you stuck in the past and stop you from creating what you want in your life. TLT focuses on what we can learn from those events and use what we learn as a resource for the future. Often, I use TLT in conjunction with other therapies such as hypnotherapy and NLP for even better outcomes.

Matrix reimprinting is an advanced emotional freedom technique that allows you to find and address the root cause of your old patterns and beliefs an reimprint (rewrite) these events that are stored in your subconscious. I gently guide you to step into a past memory and help you pinpoint exactly where your negative core-beliefs were formed for the issue you are working on. I support you through the process to change the picture and effectively rewrite the memory to neutralise traumatic, stressful or negative memories or emotions and generate major positive shifts in your core beliefs and change your relationship to your past.

By reimprinting past events and beliefs they no longer cause a current day ‘trigger’ reaction and your body is less activated, stressed and you can get on with living your best life.   

Havening is a psychosensory therapy using sensory input to alter thought, mood, and behaviour. Havening uses distraction, eye movements, and touch as a therapeutic tool for emotional disturbances, wellness, stress management, and as a self-help tool. Havening Touch involves a simple touch of the hands, upper arms and face, which generates a delta wave in the brain. Delta waves are associated with the deepest levels of relaxation, and restorative, healing sleep. 

HeartMath is a biofeedback program to develop self-regulation skills and create emotional coherence, resilience and optimal heart rate variability. It’s a powerful tool to reduce the impact of stress. The shift in heart rhythm creates favourable changes in neural, hormonal and biochemical pathways that benefit the entire body and positively impact emotional processing, attention, perception, memory and problem-solving. I offer HeartMath techniques as part of self-soothing, emotional regulation and resourcing tools. I also offer biofeedback programs to support a deeper experience and improve heart rate variability.

Breath work is foundational for health and wellness. Butekyo method helps retrain dysfunctional breathing, via nasal breathing, correct posture and training exercises. I employ various breathing exercises to help with stress, anxiety and teach you to breathe in ways that are more efficient, functional, relaxed and mindful. Breathing correctly at night supports a restful, deeper sleep and better energy and brain performance (given all that oxygen going to the brain!). How we breathe can influence our autonomic nervous system, vagus nerve thereby affecting our digestion. Functional breathing can calm the stress response, improve stress resilience, circulation, immunity, reduce inflammation.

The vagus nerve is a key part of your parasympathetic “rest and digest” nervous system. It influences your breathing, digestive function, heart rate and mental health. I teach you tools to help repair, regulate and restore your nervous system with somatic therapies, breath work and other key polyvagal strategies, to ‘tone’ your vagus nerve.

From my own journey healing complex trauma, alcohol addiction, ADHD and chronic anxiety, I understand how difficult asking for help can be. Change can be hard and scary.
