How I help

Getting to the root cause

Key factors influencing metabolism and weight management

weight insulin

Insulin Resistance
Insulin promotes the storage of sugar as fat, stops fat breakdown, drives inflammation, reduces leptin, increases androgens (PCOS). If blood sugar rises more fat is stored, increasing insulin and affecting leptin.

Leptin Resistance Leptin makes you feel full. Low leptin makes you eat more as you don’t feel full. Fat cells produce leptin, extra leptin, which over time can stop the brain responding so leptin no longer works.
Hormonal Imbalances Estrogen and testosterone control body fat distribution. Changes in these hormone levels, influence weight, body shape and fluid retention. Fat cells hold onto excess estrogen. High androgens increase insulin.
thyroid

Hypothyroidism
Thyroid hormones control metabolism. An underactive thyroid slows your metabolic rate causing fatigue and constipation by reducing the rate of food break down, leading to weight gain.

Fatigue

Stress
High cortisol increases fat storage, insulin, blood sugar, acidity, inflammation, food intake, carbohydrate and sugar cravings. Cortisol lowers thyroid, and promotes weight around the middle.

Nutrition Nutrient Absorption

Gut Dysfunction
Imbalanced or pathogenic gut bacteria, SIBO, leaky gut, constipation, yeast, fatty liver, all drive toxicity, acidity, stress, inflammation, poor liver, thyroid and hormone function causing weight gain.

weight metabolic alcohol

Inflammation
Low exercise, hidden food intolerances, toxins, allergies, histamine intolerance, poor diet, no sleep, alcohol, acidity, dehydration drive inflammation a huge factor causing stubborn weight.

Toxins Fat cells store toxins and hormones. To prevent toxins being released back into circulation fat isn’t broken down. Fat cells “hold on” to excess toxins and excess estrogen to protect us causing weight gain.

Cutting-edge genetic DNA testing unlocks your unique biology for highly personalised weight loss strategies that tailor nutrition, dietary and lifestyle recommendations precisely to your genetic blueprint.

Nutrigenomics is the future of healthcare.

With extensive experience in analysing genetics, methylation and MTHFR issues, I translate your DNA test results into individualised dietary, nutritional and lifestyle solutions.

Rapid Weight Loss Program

Is a specific program designed to stimulate fat loss alongside a very low-calorie diet to bring about a rapid change in weight. It’s not for everyone, but can be a game changer for substantial weight loss in a short timeframe. To learn more and see if you qualify for the program, get in touch.

Address contributing factors

Personalised treatment tailored to your unique needs

By achieving whole-body health, healthy weight loss occurs. Using diet, lifestyle, targeted nutrients, herbal and mind-body medicine we address contributing factors, conditions and mindset.

Modern life exposes us to more daily stress and toxins than ever before, placing an extra burden on our bodies. By supporting our elimination channels we help cleanse the accumulated waste and toxins, which are often stored in fat tissue.

Eat well
Poor diet increases toxins and inflammation, reduces nutrients needed to support metabolism, energy, hormones and elimination of toxins. Poor diet slows bowel movements so more waste and toxins sit in the colon too long and are reabsorbed back into our body and stored in fat cells.

Weight Metabolic Health

Move well
Exercise burns calories, increases metabolism and muscle mass which helps to burn fat. Movement supports lymphatic system which moves toxins, waste, excess fluid and hormones out of the body. Sweating carries out toxins, including heavy metals, environmental pollutants, and metabolic waste.

Thyroid

Breathe well
Oxygen is needed for every metabolic process and helps break down fat. The more oxygen we take in via correct breathing, the more fat we burn as metabolism is kicked into higher gear. The blood picks up fat, transporting it out with carbon dioxide and other waste via the lungs.

sleeping

Sleep well
Sleep boosts energy, mood, hormones, and metabolism. Lack of sleep reduces activity, and increases appetite, food intake, cravings all related to weight gain.

weight metabolic

Drink well
The kidneys filter water soluble waste from the blood, eliminating it via urine. Dehydration increases toxin concentration and slows down kidney function.

weight metabolic

Regulate well
Light exposure, fasting, timing of when eat, all affect our internal body clock which regulates our mood, hormones, sleep, energy, appetite, how full we feel, and how we burn fat.

Detoxification Strategies

The liver, arguably the most important elimination channel, plays a pivotal role in weight management, through detoxification, bile and insulin production and fat metabolism. I spend time assessing liver function through testing, personal history, toxin exposure and alcohol intake. Using my expertise in methylation, genetics, fatty liver and detoxification strategies, a comprehensive liver support plan is designed for your specific needs.

Address metabolic syndrome

Metabolic syndrome presents with high blood pressure, cholesterol, insulin and blood sugar, and excess abdominal weight and often fatty liver, all increasing risks of heart disease, diabetes and obesity. For those on medication, I work with your doctor, to restore metabolic health and achieve your weight goals.

Together we can make changes for a long, happy, healthy life.

Comprehensive, personalised care

Targeted treatment to suit your specific needs

Diet is customised for your specific condition and goals.

I love educating you on why and what’s happening in your body, what your body needs, how best to manage your condition and achieve your best outcomes.

I coach and guide you to make lifestyle changes and create new healthy habits for long-lasting results.

I use mind-body therapies for reducing stress, emotional healing, trauma release, changing mindset, beliefs, behaviours, habits, body image, to connect with your true self, achieve your goals and live a full, happy, healthy life.
