So many things can throw thyroid hormones off balance and when that happens symptoms like fatigue, weight gain (or loss), brain fog, gut issues, anxiety, depression, mood swings, low stress tolerance and motivation, chronic pain, aches, and discomfort can follow.

Thyroid conditions can develop during major hormonal transitions – puberty, pregnancy, post-natal, perimenopause and menopause. Many thyroid symptoms overlap with those of perimenopause, so I always assess thyroid health in mid-life women, to rule out any under or over functioning, autoimmune or inflammatory issues.
Disorders of the thyroid gland respond very well to a whole-body approach which looks at thyroid function together with all body systems as a whole.

I use extensive testing, a full thyroid panel, thyroid hormones and antibodies, thorough blood work, and if indicated functional, genetic, or gut testing.

In 2016 my daughter, then 13, was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, so I immersed myself learning everything about thyroid health. I combine this knowledge with clinical experience in functional medicine, nutrition and naturopathic therapies to formulate comprehensive, individualised treatment using the most effective options.
