Your functional roadmap for SIBO recovery
Address root causes to repair, reset and fully resolve your gut
A balanced, healthy gut has 95% of its bacteria living in the lower intestine (colon). SIBO occurs when the small amount of bacteria or yeast (about 5%) that live in the small intestine overgrows, or when bacteria moves up from the lower colon. Having this excess bacteria in the small intestine causes problems as it’s not meant to be there.
Left untreated, SIBO can lead to chronic inflammation and other long term health conditions. SIBO is common, yet frequently under-diagnosed, not well understood or treated by conventional medicine or standard gut protocols.
I have been treating SIBO since 2012 and offer a wealth of expertise, experience and knowledge to fully resolve your symptoms.
How I Help
The functional wellness approach provides a comprehensive, personalised SIBO treatment that gets to the root causes for complete gut resolution.
Learn what, when, how to eat, and why this best suits you
Most gut health strategies focus on increasing bacteria using prebiotic starches and fibres to feed bacteria, however, when used in SIBO can make people worse.
All bacteria naturally produce gas as a by-product of fermenting food. The excess bacteria in SIBO, increase fermentation, increasing gas in the wrong place, which damages gut lining and prevents proper absorption of nutrients.
The excess fermentation (rotting food) and gas alter digestive function producing unpleasant symptoms, bloating, distension, gas (farting, burping), discomfort, pain, reflux and changes in bowel movements. Low hydrochloric acid, digestive enzymes increase food fermentation, gas and bloating as the food isn’t broken down properly which ferments and feeds bacteria faster.
SIBO has so many different symptoms that vary in frequency, duration and severity and overlaps with other diseases and health conditions, so a personalised approach is key to successful treatment.
SIBO can affect methylation whilst poor methylation can lead to SIBO (due to bile issues). SIBO is linked to depression, fatigue, anxiety, panic, mood swings, thyroid disorders and hormone imbalances, and many other health issues.
As an experienced, fully trained SIBO practitioner, I provide the skills and expertise to accurately test, diagnose and design a personalised, targeted treatment plan.
For complete gut resolution and to prevent relapse supporting gut-brain health and addressing other health factors like hormones, mental health, thyroid, fatigue or metabolic issues is essential.
This is the essence of my approach.
Gut-Brain Therapies
The new understanding of how the gut, brain and nervous system are connected and communicate with each other offers new treatment approaches for gut healing. To get better outcomes for you, I offer Neurofeedback, PEMF, Hypnotherapy, Polyvagal (vagus nerve) healing, Butekyo breathing, mindfulness, positive mindset and behaviour change and emotional and trauma release healing techniques.
Gut-directed hypnotherapy is a well-validated IBS and SIBO treatment helping with all digestive complaints. It combines relaxation techniques with suggestions and guided imagery to help reset communication between the gut and the brain.
